Las Vegas Sands remains to be down after being attacked

Various hackers took down a series of Sheldon Adelson’s online websites including his main website for “Las Vegas Sands Corporation” earlier on this week. This hacking was preformed due to Mr. Adelson’s comments on the Middle East and on how we should use the Nuclear bombs as defence. These websites have been down since Friday February 7th, 2014.

There is concern about the hacking of Mr. Adelson’s website but that is not the top priority of the FBI and Mr. Adelson’s programmers. Their main concern is protecting the credit card information of high paying customers from being breached. As of right now there hasn’t been any credit card information stolen from the websites and officials said that the authorities are still working around the clock to get the website back up and running at a secure level.

A.G Burnett, Chairman for the Nevada Gaming Control Board commented on the websites still being down saying, “The Nevada Gaming Control Board alongside the FBI and Mr. Adelson’s programmers are working day and night investigating this hacking. We know why the websites were hacked, we are just trying to figure out how to make the website secure before opening it up again. We have no timeframe as to when the websites will be operational again.”

Corporate email is apparently still down as well due to the attack. This has resulted in every Las Vegas Sands Corporation employee not being able to log into their computers. Thus by having business put on hold. Sands officials have yet to comment on the attack.
